ITINERARY

Includes Lima City Tour by Bicycle – River Rafting – Inca Trail 4D

Day 01: Arrival to Lima

Arrival to the city of Lima. A representative of our Travel Agency will be waiting for you at the airport to welcome you and take you to the hotel of your choice.

We will have the day at leisure to enjoy the charm of this beautiful city.

Hotel Lima.

Day 02: Bicycle: City Tour Lima (D).

This day after enjoying our breakfast, a representative of our agency will pick you up at approximately 11:00 am. The meeting point to start this bike adventure will be at the Larcomar Shopping Center where we will join an expert guide, we will be ready to know the most outstanding places of the city of Lima.

The first point will be the Indian Market of Miraflores where you will be able to buy souvenirs, then we will go to the Huaca Pucllana, an impressive place where you can appreciate an important ceremonial temple.

While we are on board of our bicycle we will be able to see beautiful landscapes that can be appreciated in the Coast and feel the soft breeze of the place, we will pass by the Parque del Amor and the Parque Reducto. At the end of this excursion we will leave you at the hotel, and then you will have free time to explore the city.

Free afternoon to rest, walk, taste and enjoy the city.

Hotel Lima.

Day 03: Lima – Cusco (D)

At the scheduled time our staff of the Travel Agency will pick you up to take you to the airport and take the plane to Cusco.

Arrival to Cusco. A representative of our Travel Agency will be waiting for you at the airport to welcome you and take you to the hotel of your choice.

We will have the day free to enjoy the Mysterious and Wonderful City of Cusco.

Day 04: Cusco City Tour (D)

After breakfast our representative will pick you up at the hotel to take you to the City Tour.

The City Tour is an excursion that includes the circuit around the city and its surroundings, we will visit: The Qoricancha considered as the Royal House of the Sun in the City of Cusco which is formed by a mixture of Inca and colonial construction. Sacsayhuaman which is considered as a great Inca fortress where the Inca cyclopean constructions are found.

Qenqo, centre of Inca astronomy. Pucapucara known as an Inca military centre and Tambomachay considered as a purification centre and water temple.

Free afternoon to stroll and explore the city of Cusco.

Hotel Cusco.

Day 05: River Rafting Full Day (D)

A representative of our travel agency will pick you up at approximately 08:30 am to transfer you to our transport, which will take us to the camp in the area of Cusipata. When we arrive at this point we will have time to change clothes, use the facilities and leave our luggage.

Once ready we take our transport for 10 minutes more to arrive at the starting point of our activity which is known as Chuquicahuana. Here the Rafting Guide will give us a brief talk about the activity.

The duration of the Canoeing Activity will be for an average of 1 Hr. and 40 minutes to 2 Hrs. Here we will be accompanied by a kayak with an emergency guide.

After the activity we will return to the lodge where we will be able to use the showers, saunas and enjoy a delicious lunch. 

After lunch we will have some time to relax and as an option we can do the Zipline (2 ropes of 10 mt.).

Return to Cusco city and arrive approximately at 16:30 pm.

Hotel Cusco.

Day 06: Cusco Km 82 – Wayllabamba – Yuncachimpa (A – C)

We will pick you up at the hotel, after enjoying a delicious breakfast. At 05:30 am we will transfer you to the tourist transport that will take us to the village of Ollantaytambo, considered as the living museum of the Incas since the inhabitants still live in these ancient houses.

Here we will take a short break so that you can get last minute snacks or supplies before embarking on the trek. From Ollantaytambo, you will be transported to Km 82 – the official start of the Inca Trail. Here you will meet the guide and porters who are the staff that will make this trek incredibly special for you.

Once you cross the Urubamba River (2,200 m.a.s.l.), after passing the Sernanp checkpoint you will have officially started your trek on the Great Inca Trail. This day’s hike is very easy and is a great warm-up for the following days. Around midday we will arrive at Miskay where we will have lunch on a small river bank enjoying an amazing view.

Here the guide will give you a brief explanation of the importance of the Llactapata Archaeological Complex. We will continue along the trail that leads us to Wayllabamba (3,100 m) and then up to Yuncachimpa (3,300 m.a.s.l.) where you will find tonight’s comfortable campsite.  Tonight you will relax in your comfortable tent among the wonderful surroundings of the mountains.

Day 07: Yuncachimpa – Llluchapampa – Warmiwañusca – Pacaymayu Pass – Runkurakay Pass – Chaquicocha (D – A – C)

This day the staff that accompanies us on the Inca Trail (the Porters) will wake us up very early in the morning with a hot cup of mate de Coca to give us lots of energy to start our second day of adventure which will be the longest.

 The trail leads us to the Llulluchapampa Valley (3,850 m.a.s.l.) for a 3 km hike where we will enjoy the rainforest and the sound of the water. After a walk of 3 to 4 Hrs. we will arrive at the highest point of this route known as the Paso de la Mujer Muerta or “Warmiwañusca” (4,200 m.a.s.l.)

 Here we will stop for a short time to regain strength and take beautiful photographic views before setting off again to start descending down a long and steep slope towards the Pacaymayu Valley after a walk of 1 Hr.

We will arrive to the place of our lunch where we will have the opportunity to fill our water bottles to continue with our hike and ascend to the second pass of this route Runkurakay (3,050 m.a.s.l.) until we arrive to our camp called Chaquicocha (3,650 m.a.s.l.). Here you can relax and enjoy an amazing view over the mountains, take a well-deserved rest this day.

Day 08: Chaquicocha – Phuyupatamarca – Wiñayhuayna (D – A – C)

On this third day we start very early. It is considered the most beautiful day on the Inca Trail. In the course of the route you will find a change in the Ecosystem walking through the Tropical Forest we will arrive to the second pass at 3.950 m.a.s.l.

where we will find lakes and mountains, along the route we enter the Jungle through the Cloud Forest, we will have the opportunity to see the Great Snowy of Salkantay and have a fantastic panoramic view of the Cordillera of Vilcabamba. On the way we will have a small climb that will lead us through a small Inca Tunnel.

The nearest area is Phuyupatamarca known as the City of the Clouds at 3, 600 m.a.s.l. it is a well preserved archaeological centre where you will find magnificently engineered Inca baths. We will pass another Inca Tunnel before visiting Wiñayhuayna “Forever Young” at 2, 650 m.a.s.l..

 It has a zigzag Inca staircase which we will ascend until we reach the red building where our last campsite will be. In this place you can take a hot water shower for S/. 5.00 to buy bottled drinks and enjoy your last night in the nature.

Day 09: Wiñayhuayna – Machupicchu – Cusco (D – A)

This day we will see the incredible sunrise over the Machupicchu Mountains. Very early in the morning at 04:30 am, after breakfast we will go to the Intipunku known as the “Sun Gate” to get the first view of the Citadel and observe the magical sunrise. After this event we will follow the trail for about 1 Hr. to arrive to the Historic Sanctuary of Machupicchu (2, 400 m.a.s.l.).

At approximately 08:00 am. we will enter this beautiful Citadel to have our guided tour for about 2 Hrs. to understand the meaning and work of this ancient place, at the same time you will have free time to explore and take beautiful pictures.

If you have the entrance ticket for Huaynapicchu you will be able to see it without any inconvenience and get amazing panoramic images. At the end of this visit you will take the bus down to the village of Aguas Calientes.

In this place you will be able to have lunch on your own according to your choice. You have the option to visit the Hot Springs which has a cost of $10.00 per person. At 15:30 pm.

We will go to Aguas Calientes Station to take the train back to Ollantaytambo Station where a representative of our travel agency will be waiting for you to take the bus back to Cusco.

Day 10: Cusco – Puno (D – A).

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the bus station at

Transfer to the bus station at 06:30 am. Departure to the city of Puno at approximately 07:00 am.  We will start with the famous Ruta del Sol Cusco – Puno in tourist service. During the tour we will visit the picturesque village of Andahuaylillas where we will make a stop to enter the Church of San Pedro de Andahuaylillas,

dating from the sixteenth century, known as the Sistine Chapel of the Americas, due to the beauty of its murals and polychrome ceilings, works in gold leaf and paintings of the Cusco School that houses inside that make your visit a totally different experience. Here we will have a time of 25 min. approximately of tour with our Tourist Guide.

On the way we will stop in Raqchi where we can appreciate a spectacular temple dedicated to the God Wiracocha who was considered a great Inca Deity, this temple was built by the Inca Pachacuteq. It has a large central wall with a stone base of beautiful Inca architecture. The other walls are made of giant adobe bricks. The structure also has twelve circular lateral columns. Around the temple there are several buildings used as dwellings and warehouses.

We will have a stop to enjoy a succulent buffet lunch in a country restaurant, where you can enjoy the delicious culinary art of our region for 40 minutes. In the tour we will pass by “La Raya” which would be the border between the cities of Cusco and Puno at more than 4, 335 m.a.s.l.,

 where the famous Nevado del Chimboya is located, where the Amazon River is born and where visitors can get beautiful pictures of the landscape, this visit lasts approximately 5 to 7 minutes.

After having stayed for a short time and taking a brief rest, we continue our journey and stop at the Pukara Lithic Museum, a culture that developed between 1600 BC and 400 AD. – 400 AD.  Here we will find the impressive temple of Kalasasaya.

 In this museum we can find ceramics with zoomorphic figures, sculptures among them the sculpture of “Hatunñaqac” which translated into our language means “The Supreme Slasher of the Ancient Pukara Culture”. On the way we will pass through the small town of Ayaviri which is an important centre of cattle breeding and textile production.

Arrival in Puno, reception and welcome by a representative of our travel agency. Transfer to the hotel of your choice to take a well-deserved rest.

Hotel Puno.

Day 11: Floating Islands of the Uros – Taquile (D – A)

Breakfast at the hotel. Very early in the morning a representative of our Travel Agency will pick you up to take you to the Main Port and board the boat that will take us to the Floating Islands of the Uros that are actually inside the “National Reserve of Lake Titicaca”. These beautiful islands are only 30 minutes away.

The Uros people still maintain their own culture and traditions, as well as the practice of artisanal fishing, mainly “El Carachi”. When the fishing is abundant, the inhabitants keep the fish drying in the sun, as well as hunting wild birds and collecting duck eggs. Today we have 75 islands that are well organised. After a brief explanation and a 40 minute visit we continue our tour.

We continue our journey to the natural island of Taquile, whose inhabitants are mainly dedicated to agriculture, fishing and handicrafts. The inhabitants today continue to live with their,

traditions and Inca laws, with customs, religious and popular manifestations such as: The coexistence before marriage called Sirvinacuy, Payment to the Earth or Pachamama. It should be noted that spinning and weaving are mainly carried out by men, from the age of 8 years old. The women exclusively make threads and weavings.

After this pleasant experience we will have a typical lunch included. After lunch passengers will have two hours free to visit the city’s handicraft centre, take pictures with incredible panoramic views and return to the city of Puno to the hotel chosen by our visitors.

Hotel Puno.

Day 12: Puno Out (D – A)

Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time, transfer from the hotel to the Juliaca airport and we say goodbye to the city of Puno.
