Trip Overview
Choquequirao Trek 4 Days, The last capital of the Incas was established in the Vilcabamba or Antis region, which was the most complicated and inaccessible by the warrior tribes of the 16th century.
It has a chain of snow-capped peaks and high jungle mountains, with constantly changing weather conditions. It is bounded by two of the deepest canyons; the Apurimac Gorge.
Crossing the left bank and, on the right bank, the willkamayu canyon (sacred river), both rivers flow many torrents that carved and sculpted one of the most beautiful and spectacular landscapes of the Andean region.
This territory has a multitude of microclimates, a landscape of high snow-capped peaks with more than 6000 m.s.s.m., passing through high Andean plateaus until reaching an endless cloud forest or jungle eyebrows.
This region was dominated by Manco Inca after the western invasion, including several nuclei, settlements with buildings of sacred places, previously built and with a complex network of Inca roads, extended to the presence of Manco Inca, Sayri Tupac, Titu Cusi Yupanqui and Túpac Amaru I.
They decided to create a NEO IMPERIAL state, with the aim of preserving all the knowledge in religion, astronomy, customs and traditions of an ancient Inca society. choquequirao, choquequirao treks
