What Places Will We Visit During the 1-Day Colca Tour?
During the tour, you can visit different points of interest in the Colca Valley and Canyon, including natural viewpoints, traditional villages, and impressive Andean landscapes.
What is the best time to visit the Colca Valley?
You can visit the Colca all year round. However, the best time is between April and May, when the rainy season is ending. During this period, the agricultural terraces of the valley are greener and the landscapes become even more impressive.
What is the difference between a Valley and a Canyon?
A canyon is a deep and narrow river valley, formed mainly by the action of a fast-flowing river that carries rocks and sediments over time, carving out the terrain.
A valley, on the other hand, is a wider and relatively flat area located between mountains, formed by water erosion descending from the mountains. Valleys are often very attractive places due to their natural beauty and unique landscapes.
At what altitude is the Colca Valley located?
The main town in the Colca Valley is located at approximately 3,635 meters above sea level.
During the journey between Arequipa and Chivay, we pass through a very high point called Patapampa, also known as the Volcanoes Viewpoint, located at approximately 4,900 meters altitude. This is the highest point on the route during the tour.
What other tour alternatives can I do in the Colca Valley?
